How we got here!
Growing up
Joe Tarqueno, owner of Plumb Financial, was first introduced to the trades, when he was young, working alongside his father as a union plumber in the Midwest. He has found memories riding on the backhoe tractor as a kid. From a young age, Joe learned valuable skills like soldering pipes, running plumbing systems, and rodding sewers. While not always glamorous, this experience instilled in Joe a strong work ethic and the satisfaction of a job well done. It was during this time he remembers conversations promising himself to go to college.
From Finance to Construction
Joe earned a degree in finance from DePaul University and initially pursued what amounted to a 10yr career in finance and corporate accounting. However, during that time a short layoff led Joe back to his roots in the trades. He spent one summer working for a general contractor, and it was during this time that he rediscovered his passion for construction. From the initial design to the final touches, Joe loved the entire remodeling process. In 2008, he decided to leave the corporate world and founded Nail It Innovations, a residential remodeling company.
From Construction to Finance
Recognized with multiple remodeling excellence awards, he's deeply passionate about the construction industry. His commitment to professional development led him to become a Certified Remodeling Project Manager (CRPM) and Certified in Schluter waterproofing systems. He's also a former board member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Chicago Chapter, where he served as Treasurer. As well as a member of the Master Builders Association (MBAKS), National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW).
In 2020, Joe and Monica, along with their furry companions Luke and Logan, made the move to the Pacific Northwest. While Monica advanced her career in the nuclear power industry, Joe on the other hand was learning about the small business industry in is new hometown. See, during the move to the great PNW, Joe discovered a disconnect between small business owners and knowing their numbers. More importantly how to grow, become successful, and to start working on their business instead of in their business. It was then he rediscovered his love for all things accounting and founded Plumb Financial.
Beyond Work
Hiking is a cornerstone of this family’s lifestyle. Joe, his wife, and their loyal Australian Shepherd share a passion for immersing themselves in nature through epic hikes. Their recent adventure, the Rim-to-Rim trek in the Grand Canyon, is a testament to their adventurous spirit.
As a talented artist, Joe has been commissioned multiple times for portrait work in both people and dogs. He is particularly drawn to the expressive power of charcoal. His artistic eye is further complemented by his photography skills, which have earned him recognition and sales of his stunning nature captures.
Beyond the mountains and valleys, Joe is an avid sailor who delights in exploring the serene waters of Puget Sound. His love for the marine world extends beneath the surface, where he scuba dives to discover hidden underwater wonders.
